St. Jude Medal Class

May 8, 2005

To Benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

The class raised $325!  Thanks for your support!!

Folly Farm is proud to announce its participation in the “Saddle Up!” program to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  With this program, stables were asked to sponsor some sort of riding related activity to help raise funds for this worthwhile cause.  St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital pioneers research and treatment for life threatening childhood diseases.  All patients accepted for treatment at St. Jude are treated without regard to the family's ability to pay.  No one pays for treatment beyond what is covered by insurance, and those without insurance are never asked to pay. At its May 8th show, Folly Farm will run a “St. Jude’s Medal.”  This class is open to riders of all abilities, from Short Stirrup through 3’ Equitation.  In this combined, multi-level class, every rider will receive a first round numerical score, judged appropriate for their level.  The top four scoring riders will come back to jump a shortened second round, which may incorporate testing.  Since proceeds go to charity, the entry fee for this class is tax deductible.  Points awarded in this class will also count toward the Summer Show Series Trainer’s Award, as well as towards qualifying for the Folly Farm Classic.
